Getting Started with SAM.gov

Getting Started with SAM.gov

This training will walk you through the first step to applying for federal grants. It will show how to create an account and register an organization on SAM.gov, as well as how to secure a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). It is a requirement to have a UEI before an organization can apply for federal funding.

First, this training will cover the basic terminology and websites used to register an organization and why they are necessary. In the "How To" lesson, we walk through the steps of creating an account on SAM.gov. In the final lesson, we cover information regarding following up on your UEI application.

Grants are valuable resources for supporting projects or services an organization may not otherwise be able to provide. Applying for a grant can be intimidating and bring up a lot of questions. This training serves as an introduction to federal grants, frequently asked questions about grants in general, and resources to help you get started with applying for federal grants.
